This weekend saw the final Willowbog Bonsai School for 2011. In my opinion it was also the best session so far.

Peter talked about Winter protection for our trees. This proved to be a very popular topic for our members with a lot of audience participation.

He moved on to the main topic for the day, deadwood on Bonsai. We discussed the different types of deadwood used when creating bonsai and the different techniques used.

After lunch Peter demonstrated how to create deadwood with hand tools using the rip and tear technique.

The day was finished off with a short demo showing how to use power tools to create deadwood.
